Day 2

Today we went to a tourist building where we picked up brochures and information about places we planned on visiting during our free weekend time. We also validated our rail passes to prepare for trips that we will take later in the week. More excitingly, we took the Tube to Trafalgar Square where we saw our first glimpses of the London Eye and Big Ben. We struggled to climb the Lord Nelson statue for pictures, and we toured the monuments and scenery of the square for a while.

We walked from the square to 10 Downing Street where the Prime Minister resides. His residence is gated and guarded by armed policemen so we were not able to get very close. From there, we walked to the building where the Horse Guards Parade takes place along with the Queen's birthday celebrations. William, Kate and the Royal family traveled through the arches of the building on the day of the Royal Wedding exactly two weeks ago today! We spent the rest of the day viewing shops, theatres, and other popular locations to spend our free time.

  1. Love the tube picture! How about a parent approved story of life at Regents College? How's the food/room/life there?
