Professor Wolfe had arranged for us to eat at Belushi's (http://www.belushis.com/), and we all loved our choice of cheeseburgers for lunch. The restaurant had an interesting design with pop culture posters of famous celebrities, tv icons, and movie scenes from ceiling to floor. Our food was served on stone slabs instead of plates, which was a unique touch. Professor Parkhouse surprised us with extra birthday cake he had left over from his party for our dessert. After lunch, Professor Wolfe showed us some shops and arcades around town before we headed to the Roman Bath exhibits "where Romans once walked on stone pavements around a steaming pool."
The Roman Bath is the oldest structure in bath and was only discovered in the last 200 years though stone artifacts suggest that it was standing in the year 74 A.D. The Baths are the only hot springs in England. There is a legend that the minerals in the water have the power to cure all ailments by either bathing in it or consuming the water. Some of us threw one pence offerings into the springs for good luck. After a 50 minute tour with sound device guides, we split up into groups.
Some of us went browsing around the local boutiques and shops and went to the Bath Abbey, which had similar features as the Westminster Abbey. Others went on a second bus tour around the countryside of Bath. We all managed to navigate our way back to Regents for dinner.
Emily, we are really enjoying reading about your adventures. You're doing a great job keeping us up to date. The new tab about Regents College is wonderful. Keep up the good work!
